Our story

Valerie has been a long time in the making. Back when I was little, my gran, and our namesake, gifted me my first sewing machine.

Since then I’ve made all kinds of clothes. After making custom lingerie on a one-off basis, I wanted to find a way to offer more people beautiful, ethical and uncompromising lingerie, made for real bodies.

And so Valerie (the brand not the gran) was born. Valerie (the gran) is always living her best life and always knows what she wants. I wanted to create a brand that honoured her in spirit as well as name.

Every item crafted by us is designed with love, intention, and commitment:

• we’ve thoughtfully designed our pieces so that you’ll love them and love yourself in them

• we’ve intentionally chosen fabrics and methods that minimise impact and waste

• we’ve created Valerie with a commitment to inclusivity and sustainability x
